Industrial counterbalance
Counterbalance trucks are the most common type of fork lift truck in use in UK industry today and are the workhorse of most materials handling operations.
Course Aim
On completion of training the course members will:
- be able to operate the truck model used during training safely and correctly in accordance with the manufacturer's handbook and accepted good practice
- clearly understand the causes of instability of trucks and loads
- be able to carry out a routine pre-use inspection of the truck

- Operation of hydraulic controls
- Pre-use inspection
- Weight assessment
- Handling laden and unladen pallets
- Driving on/off ramps and inclines

- Stacking/de-stacking - freestanding and in racking
- Operators safety code
- Lift truck stability
Certification and Validation
Candidates successfully completing this course will receive a certificate of training accredited by either RTITB or ITSSAR
