RTITB LIFT TRUCK INSTRUCTOR / EXAMINER COURSE 

Delegate Eligibility
For experienced Lift Truck Operators who wish to progress to becoming an Instructor. A minimum of 6 months industrial operating is required and documentary evidence, is also required, of passing the Practical Test(s) of Operating Skills endorsed by RTITB Limited, within the 12 months preceding the course start date.

Course Description
Tuition and practice in the delivery of practical and theoretical training of Lift Truck Operators, which will ensure that successful delegates meet the necessary standards laid down by the Health and Safety Executive and RTITB.

Truck Familiarisation and Operator Test to Instructor Level.
Legislation & Regulations.
Approved Code of Practice.
Qualities of a Good Instructor.
Setting up and Conducting Skills Tests.
Basic Report Writing.
Certification and Authorisation.
Principles of Instruction.
Task Analysis and Planning Lessons.
Practical Lessons.

Examinations
Test(s) of Basic Operating Skills - Associated Knowledge and Practical Test to Instructor Standard
RTITB Examination of Practical Instructional Ability
RTITB Examination of Instructor Associated Knowledge

Qualification
Delegates will be examined by the RTITB and if successful will be eligible to apply for inclusion on the RTITB's register of instructors.  This qualification is valid for 5 years.

Course Duration
Novice - 10 days or 12 days extended
Direct Entry - 5 days
Refresher - 5 days or 3 days for practicing instructors
